Private Instruction

Our experienced staff is happy to offer private lessons to any level of climber(s) looking for personalized and specific climbing instruction.* From technique, anchor building, multi-pitch, cross training, or route cleaning–we can tailor our instruction to your climbing needs and bring you to the next level.** This is also a great option for parents seeking one-on-one instruction for belaying and helping their kids climb.

We’re also proud to offer private instruction to adaptive climbers. Our head instructor is trained to work with people experiencing mobility or visual impairment, cerebral palsy, limb amputations, and varying levels of paralysis. Instruction should include the adaptive climber and their belayer(s) in an effort to work towards self-sufficiency.

We require private lesson registrations be made at least one week prior to the requested private lesson date.

– Limited to 2 participants per lesson.

– $60 per hour for 1 or 2 participants, e.g., 2 participants for 1 hour is $60.

*Lead climbing instruction is not available as a private lesson.

**Multi-pitch and route cleaning require lead climbing proficiency.

EWU Adaptive Climbing Course

The EWU Department of Physical Therapy (DPT) has teamed up with Wild Walls Climbing Gym to host an adaptive climbing program. Athletes of all ages with physical disabilities who are interested in rock climbing are encouraged to participate in this program. This program consists of once-a-week 90-minute appointments on Thursday afternoons between 2 – 6pm, over the course of 5 consecutive weeks.

Second year DPT students, supervised by a licensed physical therapist, will complete an evaluation, then will work with participants to determine the best adaptive equipment needed to facilitate rock climbing and will craft a unique exercise plan that will progress participant’s strength, flexibility, and technique weekly.
