First Timers
Welcome to Wild Walls: Your Vertical Adventure Begins Here.
Wild Walls Climbing Gym offers a very controlled and inviting atmosphere where you can expand your personal horizons and have a lot of fun. The expert staff are always ready to answer your questions and help you get started at our facility. We offer Vertical Introduction classes where you will be instructed by one of our excellent instructors who will guide you through the process of learning all of the knots, commands, and proper belay technique that you need to start climbing. Our Vertical Introduction classes also include a full week of climbing [gear not included] and a review with which you can keep your skills sharp. Our classes maintain a low student to teacher ratio in order to allow for personal instruction where you can feel confident that the skills you are being taught really take root.
We offer all of the gear you need to get started right here at the gym. Wild Walls has shoes, harnesses, and belay equipment to fit all of our customers needs. We also have a variety of gear for smaller children so that they too can enjoy the vertical walls of the facility.
Challenge yourself to whatever extent you feel comfortable. Go as high as you want or come down when you are ready. All you need is your positive attitude and the desire to try something new, exciting, and challenging.
Can I do it?
Probably. Almost anybody can climb. If you can climb a ladder, then you can climb our wall!
What if I fall?
There is no falling. If you let go of the wall, your belayer [who is managing the rope] and rope will keep you from falling.
Is it expensive?
Indoor climbing is not expensive. You can purchase all the gear you’ll need for years of indoor climbing for under $200.00. Check out our membership prices and you’ll see they are competitive with other types of exercise facilities. Like any sport, the more you get into it the more you can spend. Climbing Mount Everest is expensive!
Is it safe?
At Wild Walls we do everything we can to minimize the risks involved in climbing. Our expert staff will teach you all the latest techniques and we strictly enforce our gym’s rules and policies. It is important to understand that climbing is an inherently dangerous sport.
I’m afraid of heights - what if I get scared?
It’s okay to be afraid. Lots of people are. Before you get started climbing our expert staff will explain to you the technique for coming down the wall and if you get scared we will help you back down to the ground.
